Hanoi - Halong Bay - Mai Chau

Take in the majestic beauty while partying away at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. And then, move onto the peace and tranquility of the rice paddies of Mai Chau. All this whilst keeping your base in Hanoi, at one of the top rated hostels in the world.

Kayak, explore limestone caves, bike through paddy fields, eat sizzling street food, try local alcohol and go crazy partying! Get whisked away to this dizzying mixture of drunkenness, adventure and emerald waters in Vietnam.

Halong Bay
Ride a party boat through this magnificent bay and when the beers have done their job, jump off and take a dip in the cool waters. The more adventurous can go Kayaking. All as long as you leave enough energy for even more crazy partying at night.

Mai Chau Valley
Take a step back and relax in the midst of the hills and rice paddy fields of Mai Chau. Cycle through the paddies and explore a different culture. Bike up to the largest dam lake in the South East and learn to fish like the locals. Most importantly, get that much needed break.

Streety food and crazy partying in Hanoi
The experience of a thousand years have been put to great use in perfecting the art of satisfying munchies. Eat at its local street food markets before you make your way hopping through pubs and partying it up.

Hanoi and Mai Chau: Double sharing AC rooms.
Halong Bay: Doubles sharing AC rooms. One night on the party boat and one night on an island 


Day 1

  • Arrival in Hanoi, Vietnam
  • Head from the airport to the hostel and check in to the coolest, hippest hostel in Hanoi.
  • Free time: Potter around and check out the one Pillar Pagoda and street markets and awesome street food.
  • Get back to the hostel for drinks and time to mingle with other travellers.

Day 2

  • Departure from Hanoi for Halong Bay, early morning
  • Start your party cruise through Halong Bay. Head through the less touristy parts of the bay, and see the floating villages and many gorgeous limestone formations that look like mountains,
  • Jump off the boat into the cool calm waters when it gets too hot
  • Eat a scrumptious dinner on the boat and get ready for a crazy night of partying with the most awesome drinking games.
  • Spend the night in your private rooms with your own private loos on board 

Day 3

  • Wake up with a hangover and eat your breakfast
  • Try your hand at kayaking. Don/t worry, being a bay there isn't much of a current to paddle against. And it's a good way to burn the alcohol that hasn't left your body yet.
  • Head to the island to spend the night there
  • Have a relaxed evening on the beach and some crazy tasty food

Day 4

  • Wake up with ease and eat breakfast, take a dip in the water and relax
  • Eat an early lunch and realise its already time to leave paradise
  • Boat and a bus ride back to Hanoi
  • Check back into the hostel
  • Free time: Potter around and see some more sights

Day 5

  • Breakfast at the hostel
  • Departure by van for Mai Chau Valley at 7:30 am. 4 hour ride with a small stop in the middle
  • Eat a traditional lunch at the village (veggies don’t worry, you’ll get food)
  • Bicycle trip around the village with a tour guide
  • Eat a traditional barbeque dinner while watching a Thai dance (yes you are in Vietnam but the village is ethnically Thai. And no, Thai dance doesn’t mean strippers)

Day 6

  • Early morning wake up and breakfast
  • Motorbike ride to Hoa Binh lake and go fishing the way locals do it. Hotties may also take a dip in the water!
  • Lunch at a local fisherman’s house
  • Motorbike back and free time till dinner

Day 7

  • Wake up and eat breakfast
  • Hike to rural villages and understand local customs
  • Eat lunch and head back to Hanoi
  • Its time to get wasted cause its your last night

Day 8

  • Wake up, eat breakfast and check out
  • Its time to say bye bye and the best way to do that is to eat all you can before getting back onto the flight
