Description

Koh Lanta, Thailand

Known for its coral-fringed beaches, mangroves, limestone outcrops and rainforests, Koh Lanta is an island off the coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea.

From Scuba Divers to backpackers to lazy beach bums to those just looking to take that time off in a tropical paradise, the island has something to offer to all.

Highlights

Diving Koh Haa
Ko Haa, which means ‘Five Islands’ in Thai, has a central lagoon area that is ideal for beginner divers. Sightings amongst pristine coral include Porcupine Puffer Fish, Ghost Pipefish, Octopus and Marble Rays, Eagle Rays, Whale Sharks & even Manta Rays are spotted here occasionally. A Hawksbill turtle is often seen swimming around too.

Island Hopping - Koh Phee & Koh Talabeng
Spend a day traveling to an island that looks like a ghost.  Kayak around another island while looking for a cave to explore and when you get tired from all of this, take a break on the beach where your lunch will be served to you

Diving at Hin Muang(Purple Rock) & Hin Daeng (Red Rock) 
Diving in Hin Daeng and Hin Muang, is some of the best diving in Thailand. These two huge, remote, deep water rocks are famous for sightings of manta rays and whale sharks and have exceptionally colourful soft red and purple corals. You can also see vast schools of trevallies, as well as barracuda, reef sharks and countless species of reef fish.
*These dives can be done by Advanced divers, or by opting to do a deep dive certification.

Accommodation

Accommodation on a double sharing basis in A.C. private rooms at a beautiful Eco Resort. The resort provides free wifi to all its guests and tea, coffee and water are also not charged through the day from 7am to 7pm.

Itinerary

Day 1

  • Arrive at Krabi International Airport, Thailand before 1:00 PM local time.
  • Transfer from Krabi to the island of Koh Lanta at 2:00 PM local time.
  • Free time to take in the beauty of the place and potter around.

Day 2

  • Divers wake up early and get ready for your first day of diving.
  • Departure from the hotel at 7:00 AM and transfer to the dive shop.
  • For fun divers and people completing their PADI Open Water certifications through a ‘Referral’ course:
    • Depart for your two dives today:
      • Have breakfast en-route while you get briefed on today’s dives.
  • For people doing their complete PADI Open Water course:
    • Classroom and pool sessions on this day.
  • Return to your hotel by 5:00 PM.
  • Free time to do as you please. You can head to the beach bar and grab a few beers.
  • Have dinner and go to bed early so that you are fresh for your second day of diving.

Day 3

  • Divers wake up early once again. Leave your hotel by 7:00 AM for the Dive Shop.
  • For fun divers and people completing their PADI Open Water certifications through a ‘Referral’ course:
    • Depart for your two dives today:
      • Have breakfast en-route while you get briefed on todays’ dives.
  • For people doing their complete PADI Open Water course
    • Classroom and pool sessions on this day.
  • Return to your hotel by 5:00 PM.
  • Referral course divers can go out and celebrate completing their PADI Open Water Certifications.

Day 4

  • Fun divers and people doing their complete PADI Open Water Certification wake up early once again and head for your transfer to the dive shop by 7:30 AM.
    • Depart for your two dives today:
      • Have breakfast en-route while you get briefed on todays’ dives.
  • For the rest, enjoy your freedom. The day is yours and you are free to do as you please.

Day 5

  • Fun people doing their complete PADI Open Water Certification wake up early once again and head for your transfer to the dive shop by 7:30 AM.
    • Depart for your two dives today:
      • Have breakfast en-route while you get briefed on todays’ dives
  • For the rest it's a free day today so you can sleep in and wake up with ease. There a multiple options for each type of holiday--er
    • Hardcore divers:
      • Head out for more dives. You can chose from doing 2 or 3 extra dives today.
    • Adventurers
      • Journey to Mu Ko Lanta National Park grounds located in the Southern tip of the island for a trek. Paths will take you between 1 and 2 hours, depending on your speed and you can even make it to the southernmost lighthouse for those awesome pictures
    • Explorers
      • You can hire motorbikes and check out the rest of the island. Hit some of the other beaches on the island such as Klong Nin beach in the middle of the island - highest concentration of 'backpacker' style bungalows and bars, all accessible on foot along the beach
    • Lazy bums
      • Head down to beach and work on your tan.
      • Try the scrumptious food that many shacks on Long beach have to offer.

Day 6

  • One more day of an early wake up and 7:30 AM departure
  • Take a long tail boat from the pier and you are off on your island hopping trip around Koh Lanta.
    • First stop is Ghost Island:
      • It’s named after its ghost like appearance as it looks like a human skull!
      • Be adventurous and explore a cave on the island for around an hour or so.
    • Your second stop is Koh Talabeng:
      • The caverns of this island were formerly used by pirates. It has two huge rocks that stand more than 70 meters high and tower over the surface like large giants protecting the treasure that makes up Talabeng Island.The still currents around the island make it an easy place for some sea kayaking.
      • Take a break and recharge your batteries whilst lunch will be served for you on the beach today.
      • Kayak to southern side of the island to Prasart Cave where you can see beautiful stalagmite and stalactite foundations. There is also a wide pond that is safe for swimming.
    • Head back to your hotel and get ready to make the most of your last night of the trip.
    • Eat a tasty meal with your new friends and then get truly wasted!

Day 7

  • Transfer from your hotel in Koh Lanta to Krabi International Airport
  • It’s time to go back home yo!

Pool Course - PADI Open Water course referral (Pool Training & Knowledge Development)
Start off your dive course in India itself. We've partnered with one of the leading scuba diving companies in India, for a 2 day training that will give you the knowledge and skills you need, to jump straight into the gorgeous waters of Koh Lanta. And complete the rest of your course there. 
Referral course inclusive of: 5 pool dives over 2 days | Course e-manual, theoretical evaluation and final exam | Customized Log book | Professional diving equipment Instruction and certification charges.
Cost of the course in Pune is INR 11,000. Please contact us for courses in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification
This option is only available for people who are already PADI Open Water Certified divers. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives.
The course is held over 3 days and includes a total of 6 dives (the same as in the fun diver option). 
The cost of the Advanced Certification is Rs. 5900/- (in addition to the cost of the fun diver).

Deep Dive Certification
For those who are PADI Open Water certified and wish to expand their skills, take the Deep Dive Certification. This will be 2 dives with an instructor and certifies you to dive down to 40 meters. The credit for this course also goes toward your PADI Advanced certification.
Cost for the Deep Dive Certification is Bath.4500(on big boat) bath 5,000(on speed boat) 

Lanta Animal Welfare               
Visit the most popular site on the island and see what a difference this organisation has made to the lives of the animals living here. They do not charge an entrance fee but accept donations to continue to help the animals on the island. INR 800 is what it takes to rent a bike there. 

Thai Cooking Class
Try your hand at cooking a tasty thai meal. You get to choose from your favourite meat or vegetarian options and taste the food you make.
Cost for a 4 hour cooking class is INR. 2,800

Extra Dives - For certified divers 
3rd dive on 1st and 3rd day of diving - cost INR 1600
Additional day trip including 2 Dives - cost INR 5500 + Park fees INR 1350 (Park fees Bath 600 to be paid directly)
